Welcome

I am a library student at the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. This website describes the first half, May–August 2008, of an eight-month co-op position at the University of Victoria's McPherson Library.

Although this report focuses on my progress thus far, my projects, duties and learning objectives will overlap the two four-month terms. Some projects have ended while others are ongoing, and I have omitted a few smaller items that will take greater precedence in the second term.

What's up with the bunnies?

The rodents are rampant at the University of Victoria. I took the photos for the header image (the bunnies and the Library Help Desk) and manipulated them with Adobe Photoshop. I created the site using First Page with use-restriction–free CSS templates designed by Andreas Viklund, modifying the code for my needs and adding my own content.

These general interest and reference links are not essential to the report; all necessary content is included on the disc. Also note that the web site looks best when viewed with Firefox.
